During two weeks of intensive programme young members of parliaments and political parties, young journalists, NGO activists and students will have the opportunity to enhance their knowledge on human rights and the rule of law. The programme consists of thematic one-day workshops and lecturers such as Terrorism and Human Rights, Art and Human Rights, European Court of Human Rights etc.
-First aim of the School is to spread the idea of human rights among future leaders in the Balkan region and to encourage them to share experiences with each other, said Ranko Helebrant, School Coordinator.
In addition, every year the BHRN organises an alumni meeting aiming to strenghten the relations between the participants and to initiate further cooperation among them.
The School is a BHRN project financed by the FRESTA project of the Ministry of Foregin Affairs of the Kingdom of Denmark and organised by the Croatian Helsinki Commitee for Human Rights. The BHRN is a network composed of 43 non-governmental organisations protecting human rights in the Balkan region.
