"Insults and curses like ”May God give you death on the road!", then dragging and spitting, is our everyday life, the passengers are surrounded by Roma who want money. And because we have been receiving numerous complaints made by citizens regarding these happenings, maybe that’s why we have now this controversial inscription", said Ante Cicvaric, Head of the Bus Station in Zagreb for Vecernji list, Croatian evening gazette.

"The inscription is extremely rude and for each conviction. If it turns out that worker Tanja, who happens to be in the photo, is responsible for this message, it follows a warning before dismissal", added Cicvaric.

The above-mentioned worker is currently on vacation. She allegedly said that she does not know anything about the incident, even though the label is set during her shift.

The shock was expressed by the President of the Croatian Helsinki Committee, Ivan Zvonimir Cicak, who says that this is a frightening racism against Roma people.

"I will respond with a protest note addressed to the administration of bus station in Zagreb", Cicak said, adding that he cannot believe that such a racist breakdown may occur in the capital of Croatia.
