At the humanitarian concert for victims of human rights violations held this weekend in the well-known Zagreb club Aquairus bands Hladno Pivo, TBF, Bare i Plaæenici, Kawasaki 3p, Stampedo, Lollobrigida, Vatra and Mental Protest performed onstage, while DJ Sasha and Frx from Radio 101 played the music. All contribution from ticket sales was raised for the activist department involved in direct human rights protection which receives yearly 1500 and 2000 citizens who come and request help.
In spite of the fact that the CHC has always considered direct human rights help as one of its primary activities, financial support of such activities has decreased especially from domestic sources. Taking into consideration that the CHC has not received a single penny from the Croatian government and state institutions for its activities as well as the fact that the number of citizens who come to seek help has not decreased in number, the CHC decided to raise additional funds by organizing the concert.
– Tendency has been observed within the society to turn to Croatian citizens and seek aid from them to help their fellow citizens in need… and similar actions may be expected in the near future – said Srdjan Dvornik, CHC deputy director.
