Explaining this decision, Committee Member Ivo Slaus pointed out his crucial role in the process of refugees return, regardless of their nationality. Journalist Luka Brailo received award “Josko Kulusic” for exceptional contribution in promoting human rights in the media. Charter “Aleksandra Zec” awarded as a token of solidarity with the victims of political violence, was given to journalist Helena Puljiz.

-When speaking of human rights, Croatia is today in post-nationalistic period, since nationality is no longer the type of problem that is a key ground for our interventions. Nevertheless, a number of social rights violations still occur because of the incompetence and low control of the government apparatus. – said Zarko Puhovski, Chairman of the CHC.

In addition, governmental Office for Human Rights organized all-day celebration of the Day of Human Rights. The programme included collection of financial contributions for the hospital specialized in curing children chronic diseases.
