The materials of the book were prepared by Azerbaijani and Uzbek human rights defenders, who tried to prove that what terrible “independent prison” the two nations turned to be in after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
The book claims that though Azerbaijan is declared to be the democratic developing country, oriented to western political and ideological values, nevertheless the country experiences neo monarchical clan regime. It is also noted that the politics applied towards these two countries by countries of western democracy helped elimination of the real multi-party system and democratic opposition in Azerbaijan.
One of the objectives of the book is to show the “process of turning Azerbaijan to Uzbekistan” in the spheres of human rights and democratic freedoms.
