Eight representatives of Azerbaijani political parties and human rights organizations attended PACE session in Strasbourg in the 3-rd week of April. Among them were three representatives of the Core Group of Human Rights House Baku, who also had a number of meetings with high-ranking representatives of the Council of Europe. The situation on human rights, elections, pressure on mass media was on the agenda of the Azerbaijani human rights delegation. (22-APR-07)

The Azerbaijani delegation of representatives of political parties and human rights organizations, consisted of 8 people: Novella Jafaroglu, Saadat Benanyarly, Eldar Zeynalov, Saida Gojamanly, Zaliha Tahirova, Isa Gambar, Chingiz Ganizadeh, Eldar Namazov.

In addition to the presence at the PACE session and report presentation on Azerbaijan, the group had numerous meeting with high-ranking representatives of the Council of Europe when they raised the issues of concern on the current situation of Azerbaijan. The issues related to human rights, elections, mass media, as well as individual cases of Eynulla Fatullayev, Huseyn Abdullayev, Ali Insanov were targeted during meetings.

It is important to note that all the amendments to the Report on Azerbaijan were taken into account during the session of PACE.
