HRHF is concerned about the detention of the Institute for Reporters´ Freedom and Safety’s Chairman, Emin Huseynov today, 12th of June. The Institute for Reporters´ Freedom and Safety (IRFS) reports that Emin Huseynov was detained in front of Azerbaijan´s Presidential Administration building while filming a picket held by students. IRFS was able to contact Huseynov at 1:20 p.m. The Chairman said that the security officers have confiscated all of his identification documents and video camera. The officers also asked Huseynov why he was taking photos there. In response to this, Huseynov explained he was filming the protest. According to Huseynov, no reason for the detention has been given.
IRFS is a member of the international freedom of the expression exchange (IFEX).
