A contest carried out with financial support from Open Society Institute of the Media Rights Center – Assistance Fund on the topic of “Journalist investigations on the situation of human rights” has concluded. The presentation of prizes took place in the International Press Center on 26 May. (28-MAY-08)

The Chairperson of the Media Rights Center Metanet Muslimgizi said that the panel for the awards agreed that no one should be awarded the first place. However, Malahat Rzayeva of Sharg Gazeti took second place, Gulnur Rafiggizi of Ganja Media Center came third, Arzu Soltan, an independent journalist, took fourth place, Farman Nabiyev of Mingachevir Ishiglari newspaper came fifth, and Etibar Seyidaga of Yeni Musavat Newspaper took sixth place. At the end of the event the winners were rewarded with money in different amounts and with diplomas.
