The Tibetan documentary ´What Remains of Us´ will be screened at Tromsø International Film Festival (TIFF). The film is also nominated to what arguably has become the festival´s most prestigeopus award, the Peace Film Award. TIFF will open next week and run from the 15th to the 20th of January. Kelsang Dolma, a Tibetan refugee in Quebec, Canada, travels into Tibet. She carries a video taped greeting from the Tibetan leader Dalai Lama. Families gather in front of the little screen. The message they receive makes a strong impression.

Bilde til artikkel om film jan 08.jpg´What Remains of Us´ was filmed during numerous visits to Tibet between 1996 and 2004, without Chinese authorities being aware of what was going on. The film has received a numbe of awards, among them the Best Canadian Feature Film Award, 2004, and Award for Best Documentary at the Hollywood Film Festival, also 2004. At TIFF, the film will be shown in a closed screening, with high security. Kelsang Dolma has been invited to attend the screening. ´What Remains of Us´ is one of eleven films nominated for the Peace Film Award.
