Valentina Melnikova occupied a post of the Chairperson of the Center’s Board till 2004. Now after the failure to establish the Party of Soldiers’ Mothers and the shutting down of the Republican Party of the Russian Federation Valentina Melnikova again focused her efforts on protection of human rights and headed the RRCHR Board. Meanwhile, Salam Kurbanov, young lawyer from Dagestan became the new Director of the Center. He has been working in the Public Reception of RRCHR for four years, providing legal assistance to citizens and even appearing in court on their behalf. He also helped former RRCHR Director Liubov Vinogradova with project activities.
We congratulate new leaders and we wish them success!
