On this day in 1918 the Third Constituent Charter was adopted, which proclaimed the independence of the Belarusian People’s Republic (BPR).The festive day traditionally begins with honoring the memory of the BPR activists at 12:00 at the Rasu Cemetery in Vilnius.
The continuation of the Freedom Day celebration will take place in the bar “Užupio kavinė”, where Siarhei Douhushau and his “Speuny Shod” (“Singing Assembly”) together with all the guests will perform “Narodny Albom” (“People’s album”) at 18:00.
 
The next day, on 26 April (Sunday) a Mass in memory of the Belarusian People’s Republic activists will be held at 12:00 in the Church of St. Bartholomew.
 
Celebration of Freedom Day was organized jointly by the European Humanities University Students’ Union, the Youth association “StudAlliance”, the Barys Zvozskau Belarusian Human Rights House, the agency “Vilnius Relax” and the Belarusian Culture Society in Lithuania.
 
On 25 March all Belarusians will have an excellent opportunity to come together to celebrate one of the most important events of the year, Freedom Day. Organizers would like to invite everyone to participate!
