Itar-Tass — A plane with humanitarian cargo on board has left Baku for North Ossetia, a source in the Azerbaijani Airlines State Concern told Itar-Tass. (8 SEP 2004)

The plane is carrying over five tonnes of medicines for sufferers in the terrorist act in Beslan.

On Monday Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev told the government to give aid to Beslan sufferers. Aliyev received the Russian ambassador to Azerbaijan on Monday and said that Baku was ready to receive any number of Beslan adults and children for rehabilitation.

“We are ready to give any assistance to sufferers in the horrible terrorist act,” he said.
