Women’s Network Croatia, CMS and CESI request from Republic of Croatia, as member of Security Council, to define clear standpoint regarding the need of immediate cease-fire in Gaza. These three organizations most severely condemn military operations which Isreal is undertaking in Gaza, as well as every other war violence, killings of innocent civilians and creation of humanitarian crisis. They also join peace organizations and human rights organizations throughout the world that seek urgent action of international community to stop the violence, provide urgent humanitarian help and continuation of peaceful negotiations.
As citizens of Republic of Croatia, Women’s Network Croatia, CMS and CESI request from the state to define clear standpoint toward the need of immediate withdrawal of Israeli military forces in Gaza and to enable humanitarian help and negotiation. From the international community it is requested to immediately act and take concrete steps toward stopping the war from both sides.
Women’s Network Croatia, CMS and CESI express their full solidarity with women and peace organizations from Israel and Palestine which also request conflict resolution and end of war. They also join to the requests of peace activists around the world who seek for active engagement of women in peace building and advocate strengthening of international women solidarity, as stated in resolution of Security Council 1325, in order to establish peace in Gaza.
The statement is addressed to the preseident of the Government of Republic of Croatia, Ministry of external affairs, Permanent mission of UN in Republic of Croatia, Council for external politics and Croatian public and media.
