Azerbaijan Young Lawyers Union is conducting trainings for law enforcement on “Struggling against human trafficking; cooperation between governmental and civil society organization” within the programme of CRS in the South Caucasus on enhancing the collaboration between civil society and governmental bodies on struggling against human trafficking. The project includes a series of training, covering the period of 2007.

AYLU-training-2The first training was conducted by Azerbaijan Young Lawyers’ Union (AYLU) in March 30-31 in Baku, Irshad Hotel Conference room. The participants of the training were consisted from the representatives of the Prosecutor General Office, Baku City Head Department of Police, Sabail, Garadakh, Narimanov, Khatai, Binagadi, Nasimi, Azizbeyov, Yasamal, Surakhani and Sabunchu districts police departments and National Association of Youth Organizations of the Republic of Organization and other NGOs. The trainings were led by the trainers Asif Ismayilov (chairman of AYAFE) and Oksana Azimova (Head of Gender department of AYLU).

The second training round was conducted in Lenkoran in 29-30 May for representatives of local police and prosecutors. During the 2 days training the following topics were been delivered to participants in way of lecturing and practical group works, brainstorming, role games and case studies; on phases of the human trafficking and how to strugglle, international and national legal standards for struggling against human trafficking, exploatation, identification and support of the victims of human trafficking and other related topics.

The next trainings will be conducted in Ganja, Sheki, Guba regions of Azerbaijan.
