The team of the Educational Human Rights House took an active part in the “All-Ukrainian” cycling day in Chernihiv. The Human Rights House team rode a bikes through the ancient green streets of Chernihiv city together with friends and volunteers. After the bicycle race the team went to the bike picnic and talked to the bicycle community about human rights. This year, 1519 participants came together for the bike race in Chernihiv city. The team was happy to be able to join the bike ride in support of a healthy and active lifestyle.
“Cycling day”
The “Cycling day” is an all-Ukrainian action, which unites thousands of cyclists in a joint bicycle ride in the central streets of their cities. The annual cycling parade collects supporters of two-wheeled transport with the aim of propaganda of a healthy and active way of life and an ecological alternative to a city car, the creation of civilised conditions for cyclists in Ukrainian cities. Participants of the bicycle ride advocate for safety and mutual respect on the roads, the creation of cycle tracks and parking in public places. This action has never been political and is a manifestation of the goodwill of cyclists in Ukraine.
