Copyright: Civil Rights Defenders.The United Nations Special Rapporteur on the rights to freedom of peaceful assembly and association, Maina Kiai, is requesting Member States, national human rights institutions, non-governmental organizations and regional human rights mechanisms to submit information on best practices that promote and protect the rights to freedom of peaceful assembly and of association.
The information will be annexed to his report to the Human Rights Council for consideration at its 20th session for illustrative purposes.
Responses to the questions contained in the attached questionnaire (EN, RU) should be sent no later than 20 January 2012 to the following e-mail address: freeassembly@ohchr.org or fax: +41 22 917 90 06, with a copy to the Human Rights House Foundation.
The information should be preferably provided in English. The replies in Russian should be sent to the Human Rights House Foundation, which will assist in translating it into English.
