I find advocacy to be very rewarding work – especially when you can witness that work contributing to positive change that helps to protect, empower and support human rights defenders.
Doriane coordinates HRHF’s 2018 campaign on human rights defenders. She is responsible for the work related to the campaign on human rights defenders including; the production of materials to be used for the campaign; organisation, monitoring and follow up for all of the campaign’s events; as well as communication and coordination internally and with the Human Rights Houses.
As a member of the advocacy team, Doriane also provides daily assistance and support to HRHF’s international advocacy officer, by conducting background research and monitoring United Nations Human Rights Council sessions.
Doriane joined HRHF in May 2017 where, prior to becoming Project Coordinator, she started as a trainee. Prior to her work with HRHF, she gained experience in advocacy during a previous traineeship at the Euro-Mediterranean Federation against Enforced Disappearances (FEMED). Her academic background also allowed her to work in a law firm by developing case strategy and conducting legal research. Doriane is a law school graduate, with two master degrees in International and Human Rights Law from the University of Law and Political Science of Aix-en-Provence, in France.
