Hearing on Norway’s Roma policy
The Norwegian Helsinki Committee is organising a nation-wide hearing regarding the Norwegian Roma policy. The hearing will focus on the human rights violations within the Roma community from the 1900s until the present day. It will aim at contributing to a policy that improves the integration of the Roma community in the Norwegian society and further develops the community’s cultural identity.
The Human Rights Week
The Human Rights Week is a week of celebration to commemorate the 60 years of Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). Reflections on human rights achievements are done during this time.
A number of activities have been lined up for the week among which:
A Book Fair;
Human Rights Film Festival;
Human Rights Networking Forum; and
Night Vigil held to remember the fallen Human Rights Defenders.
