SCC was established on 27-MAR-94 on the First assembly of Serbian citizens, whereby they formulated the strategy, the goals and the main principles of the organization. The most important are achieving continuous and righteous peace in BiH, keeping the unique and internationally acknowledged BiH and reviving the parliamentary environment in the state. Serbian Civil Council in Sarajevo offers a various kinds of help and protection to people all across Bosnia and Hercegovina. The Council fights for equality and insures that the political, social and cultural status of Serbs is equal to that of other nations. In addition, it also protects the rights of other nations and minorities in the Republic of Srpska and ensures the minimum social standards for people with social and special needs.  During last ten years, Serbian Civil Council held a great number of meetings, round tables, published a number of statements expressing its own attitude about some political movements in the state. There is no one important political happening whereby the SCC was quite. Also, in 1995. SCC worthy won the alternative Nobel prize “Real life” for political influence in peaceful solving the crisis in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and for international tolerance. Arif Tanovic, professor at the University of Sarajevo said that “ SGV, besides the contribution in BH politics, also helped Serbian people who suffered the aggression like others, to be understood in the society. These Serbs, who fought for independent Bosnia and Herzegovina, in aggressor’s mind were known as heretics, deserters.” The most important issue in work of SCC is the initiative for the Constitutional change towards the equality of people in the whole Bosnia and Herzegovina. That constitutional progress insured the equal status, political and civil rights to all nations, both in Federation and in Republika Srpska.
