Located in Moscow, the Russian Research Center for Human Rights (RRCHR) hosts ten independent human rights organizations. The Center was established in 1992 by a number of internationally recognised human rights activists who had struggled for freedom in the Soviet Union since the 1960s.

So-called “traditional values” are not human rights
States advocating traditional values in reality aim at raising their own cultural norms and particularities above international law and standards. Azerbaijan and Russia: systemic and systematic human rights violations
Once again, Sunday 10 March in Baku, peaceful protestors were met with police violence. Last Sunday, families and relatives of soldiers killed at the army in non-conflict situations were violently dispersed and more than 50 people were detained. Call to immediately stop harassment of human rights NGOs in Voronezh
Shortly before 16:00 local time (13:00 CET time) on Wednesday 19 December 2012 police officers and investigation officers entered the premises of the Human Rights House Voronezh to conduct a search in all its offices. TV newsreader shot in Russia the same day as a campaign against murders of journalists started
On 6 December Kazbek Gekkiyev, a journalist on the local TV station, was murdered in the North Caucasus republic of Kabardino-Balkaria on his way home.
