Strategic programs
Human Rights House Network has four strategic programs, which help us achieve our main objectives:
1. To strengthen human rights defenders and their work.
2. To facilitate the establishment of sustainable institutions.
3. To generate political support for human rights defenders and NGOs.
4. To promote and protect the rights to freedom of assembly, association and expression, and the right to be a human rights defender.
Program I - Networking and capacity building
Networking and capacity building programme has been created to fulfil HRHN's strategic objective to strengthen human rights defenders and their work.
The programme is comprised of several elements, such as:
- work with the international network
- work with regional networks
- internship programs among Human Rights Houses
- capacity building in information and web-journalism, advocacy, fundraising, etc.
Program II - Institution building
Institution building programme has been created to fulfil HRHN's strategic objective to facilitate the establishment of sustainable institutions.
The programme is comprised of two main elements, namely facilitation of the establishment of new Human Rights Houses and support to the already existing Human Rights Houses.
Currently the Human Rights House Network has member Human Rights Houses in 4 regions - Balkans, Caucasus and Eastern Europe, Western Europe and East and Horn of Africa.
Program III - Lobbying and advocacy
Lobbying and advocacy programme has been created to fulfil HRHN's strategic objective to generate political support for human rights defenders and NGOs.
The Programme comprises several elements, such as:
- Work on individual cases in the form of letters of concern, urgent appeals, etc.
- Work on issues, campaigns
- Work on national obligations
- Work with international and regional organisations
- Information work
Program IV - Fundraising
The Human Rights House Network participates in fundraising for establishing local Human Rights Houses, developing joint activities as well as national and regional projects in the Network.
