The Moscow Helsinki Group (MHG) was founded on 12 May 1976 by Professor Yuriy Orlov on the basis of the Treaty for Security and Cooperation in Europe, signed by the heads of 35 governments in August of 1975, in Helsinki. The MHG is the oldest human rights organization in the Russian Federation. MHG's mission is to assist human rights observation and democracy development in the Russian Federation. »

The Right of the Child is a regional, non-governmental organization for the protection of children's rights. It was registered in 1998 and since then become the main organ for the execution of joint programs among the Center’s Groups for the protection of children. A special part of its work is its Human Rights Service for Children (with daily surgery, providing humanitarian assistance, etc.) as well as the development and implementation of proposals for the establishment of mechanisms for monitoring the observance of children’s rights and for realizing the right of every child to live and be brought up in a caring family environment. »

“Right to Live and have Civil Dignity” was founded in 1989. The group originated under the name "Against Death Penalty" and received its current name in 2000. The interconnectedness of the most diverse aspects of human rights protection, at a time of civil and political uncertainty, has compelled its activists to expand the field of their activities. The organization's current goals are, therefore, to participate in the resolution of conflicts and to promote civic peace.
Educating the public is one of the organization's major activities.

The Union of the Committees of Soldier's Mothers of the Russian Federation was founded in 1991 and provides practical assistance to conscripts and their families. The situation for military servicemen and conscripts in the Russian army is grave. The Union of the Committees of Soldier's Mothers of the Russian Federation assists people through the process of appealing for exemption from and/or deferment of military service for reasons of health, extreme family hardship, or conscientious objection.
