Article 42 of the Constitution – is one of the largest and most respectable NGOs in Georgia mainly focusing on issues of free legal aid and strategic litigation. The organization was established in 1997 and since its establishment lawyers of Article 42 have been providing free legal assistance to the alleged victims of human rights violations. The organization is mainly focused on constitutional litigation and on bringing the cases before the European Court of Human Rights. Most of the benchmark judgements of the European Court delivered with respect of Georgia was litigated by the lawyers of the Article 42. »

Georgian Centre for Psychosocial and Medical Rehabilitation of Torture Victims (GCRT)

The Georgian Centre for Psychosocial and Medical Rehabilitation of Torture Victims was established in 2000. The primary aim of GCRT is to provide qualified, multidisciplinary services to torture survivors and their family members, to raise public awareness about the issues of torture, to contribute to the prevention of torture, (monitoring human rights violations in prisons) to conduct educational activities concerning torture and inhuman treatment, raise competence of service personnel on how to provide assistance to victims of torture. Also to train law enforcement personnel dealing with prisoners as well as probation officers. »

Organization was founded on December 10th 1996. Purpose of the HRIDC is to protect and promote human rights and basic freedoms in Georgia. »

Union Sapari - Family without Violence

Sapari – was established in 2000 by the group of Georgian women who were determined to fight against discrimination based on gender and to promote equal treatment of women in all aspects of societal life. The organization is implementing projects related to the empowerment of women through capacity building of women organizations. In addition, it is actively advocating for the eradication of the domestic violence and provides various kinds of assistance to the victims. Many of the projects are implemented together with other members of the core group. It is sharing the office with the GCRT for several years and two organizations are successfully unifying their resources for the achievement of the common goals.
